Comment: I myself don't have graves disease but recently found out that my 31 yr old friend of 13 yrs does. I am extremely worried about him because he does not take his medication regularly, drinks and is still doing drugs. I want to learn about this disease but must admit that after reading your entire site...I still don't have a clue as to what exactly the disease is, what it does to you, etc. anything you could email me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for the time you put into your website.

Comment: My daughter (30 years old)was diagnosed with graves disease this summer. I had a goiter removed at age 16. Even with my history it took almost 2 years for doctors to decide what was wrong. They still haven't gotten her thyroxin levels controlled and she just spent three days in the hospital because her heart rate was 160. Are there any really good specialist in the Pueblo or Colorado Springs, Colorado area? I feel helpless but want to get her some relief. THANK YOU!!!!

Comment: I have a thyroid problem too! I am 19 and I was diagnosed in April 1998. I am on Syntheroid too and am feeling a lot better. I understand what you went through as I went through some of the same symptoms too. Remember, a smile never hurt anybody! :)

Comment: I've been suffering with what I thought to be Chronic Fatigue Syndrome even though a thyroid test concluded I might be a little "hyperthyroidish" (New word!)I'm so confused about what is going on with me. Would love to converse more with you about your story as I see some similarities to my own. So glad I found your site. Santa just brought us this computer so pardon me if I sound like an amateur web site visitor!

Comment: I am happy that you have taken the time to tell people your story and to help people be aware of how serious this disease can be....I myself don't have graves' disease but it does run in my family....Just a week ago one of my closest cousins was diagnosed with the disease after having eye problems that wouldn't go away she went to an eye doctor who diagnosed her within seconds....her eyes were swollen and constantly tearing and actually bulging out of their sockets!!! My sister has hypothyroidism and is on cyntrex? for the rest of her life but unlike my cousin never developed a goiter...her doctor is now talking about chemotheraphy already...She just had a baby nine months ago...I hope all goes well for you after all you've been through so far things can only get better!! Happy Holidays

Comment: I was looking for a web site that told not only the physical effects, but the mental aspects of the disease. I am 20 and I have Grave's disease. I was just diagnosed in November and I have already had the radioactive iodine treatment. They say I have had it for about five years. They really have no idea why my symtoms started to show at such an early age. Anyway, I wanted to thank you for letting me know that the depression and mood swings weren't just me. Your site really helped.

Comment: Hello. I'm 20yrs old and I'm a US Marine. After going to our Medical facilities on base for about four months, I found out I have Thyroid Disease. The Doctors really don't explain anything to me. I do a lot of research online. I was wondering if maybe you could help me get a better understanding of all this. Your story was very dear to me. I hope you're doing alright and I'll be praying for you. God Bless!

Comment: Do you have any advice regarding the subject of Graves' Disease and treating it? I went to my doctor yesterday and he took a blood test. One of my eyes bulges, and my heart "races". Thanks for everything.

Comment: Thank you very much for your words. I am 33yrs. old and was told that I had GD on Friday 13th November 1998. The hand tremors and my "blonde moments" (memory loss)as my husbands puts it have been a bit of a worry, when I lay in bed one night and felt my heart pound as though it wanted out of my chest I knew there was something wrong. I have asked time and time again of the Dr's. "How did I get this" and they keep saying that it is Hereditary and nothing else. I have just had an extremely stressful encounter with my husbands son for a period of 18 months and we could not work out why I was so emotional and some counsellors put it down to jealousy. At times I feared for my safety due to some of the things the stepson did. What you have said in your article has helped me a great deal and I am sure it will help my husband understand alot more about GD and how I have ended up with it.We are trying to start a family and this hasn't helped we have been trying for 3yrs. So hopefully with the help of Propylthiour this may soon be possible. Again thank you for the time and effort you have put into this page it has been a great help.
