Comments: I have visited here before, and it does make me feel a little better to know that I am not out there alone. I have experienced many of the horrors that others have. My diagnosis took at least 7-8 years and it has ruined relationshipss because everyone thought my rapid heart rate and all that comes with that was just anxiety. I can not tell you how many ER visits I had over my heart rate and related breathing problems. NO ONE ever looked at my thyroid even though I have the "eyes" and had lost a significant amount of weight and had as one endochronologist called it "Classic graves symptoms"... I was on Tapazole for a year and it swung me way low, now I am in a very low normal range but still have some heart symptoms. I am wondering if ANYONE has trouble swallowing, especially after Tapazole or like drugs, and has it continued after being off of it? I sometimes can barely swallow food or drink and even almost choke on my own mucous occaision. I have been through a gastoscopy and xrays and swallowing tests and I feel like I did when I spent 8 YEARS getting the run around from all the doctors who missed the Graves diagnosis. No one seems to want to take any time to help me here. Am I alone here with this sswallowing? It started happening within 3 weeks of starting the tapazole. I would love hearing from some of you out there? Does anyone go to a support group for them or their families. This has really taken its toll.

Comments: I'd be happy to hear more about Graves Disease. I have lost all my strength and energy. I've already had one RAI therapy, but my thyroid is still overactive. I'm miserable, but happy to know I'm not crazy...just suffering.

It has been overlooked so much in our family that is not even funny. Maybe people will be more aware if they can read your pages. The thyroid problems are overlooked more times than they are found. thanks a lot for your pages Sharon Brown

Comments: I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH GRAVES DISEASE IN 6/98 AND HAVE BEEN ON TAPAZOLE SINCE WITH VERY FEW SIDE EFFECTS. I STARTED WITH 40MG IN JUNE AND I AM NOW DOWN TO 7MG PER DAY. LUCKILY I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH THE FIRST VISIT TO MY DOCTOR I WAS TRULY BLESSED TO HAVE A COMPETANT DOCTOR AND NOW A ENDOCRONOLIGIST WHO MONITORS ME MONTHLY AND ADJUSTS MY MEDICINE UP OR DOWN EVERY FOUR TO FIVE WEEKS AND MONITORS ALL OF MY BLOOD CHEMISTRY MONTHLY.

Comments: I have been dealing with Graves Disease for the last 6 or 7 years. I've lost track, especially with all of my brain fades. I was really happy to find all this info and people going throught what I have been. It is sad to see all the people that are going through this but at the same time it is kind of nice to have company. Thank You.
