Comments: I've been long searching for someone who knows what I have gone through. The whole problem is that people are not aware of this disease and even doctors tend to want to tell you that you should go see a head doctor cause of all the symptoms you give them. I will forever have this battle with Graves' Disease as my now doctor tells me, so I'm trying to find out more about it's treatments.

Comments: You need to add excruciating headaches to your list of symptoms. I had them for over a year, almost 24 hours a day. I survived because I had to. My therapist insisted I see my doctor about them and it's what caused my doctor to check for a thyroid problem. It turned out to be Grave's Disease. Besides the headaches, I had a good chunk of the other symptoms, but didn't know why. When I finally got to an Endo, he told me my heart beat was so fast that if I was 20 or 30 years older I probably would have a heart attack! When I took the radioactive iodine they told me there would be no side effects. WRONG! I was sick for almost a month. I went from 120 to 104 in that month because I couldn't keep any food down. It took them a year and a half to get the levels regulated. I thank God my doctor found the problem the first time I went to him about it.

Comments: My sister just had Orbital Decompression surgery on her eyes for Grave's Disease. It has not been a pleasant experience, so far. While the surgery seems to be successful, post-surgery side effects have been troubling. She is looking to correspond with people who have had this type of surgery and compare notes on success, recovery period and side effects. It's easy to find information on the Net about this type of surgery, but nearly immpossible to find post-surgery from people who have had the operation done. If you can help, write to her at ccasteen@hotmail.com

Comments: I'm 3 months pregnant and was told today that I'm suffering from a Hyper thyroid. The dr mentioned Graves Disease so I thought I'd look it up. Since I'm pregnant, I can't do anything about my current situation, but it was interesting finding out more about thyroid disease.

I'm looking to corresponde with other sufferers. Please feel free to contact me. I really enjoyed this site. It was very informative, considering that I've been in the dark for most of this.
