Subject: Graves Disease
Comments: I've only been diagnosed with Graves Disease this past Monday. Looking back, I probably have had it for years and years. I appreciate this website and feel slightly encouraged. I'd never heard of Graves Disease and now I'm starved for information. I'm so tired of no energy and have been treated for depression for years and years. Now I wonder about what life would have been like had I had the tests 20 years ago. I look forward to learning more and knowing how to live with this disease. Thank you,...

Comments: I was dx with GD about 4 months ago. It has been a really hard 4 months. And the 3 months before that were even harder. My original doctor dx me with an anxiety disorder. I am scheduled to get the RAI on the 28th, I can't wait to get back to my old self again. Anyone, please feel free to email me. It's good to know that this website exsist and there are other people out there going through the same thing I am. It's really comforting.

Comments: I was just dignosed with Graves Disease. It has been a roller coaster ride the past 2 months, trying to adjust to the medication, and the stress in my life. I am also going through a divorce. God bless anyone with this disease. I believe we can make it through!

Comments: Just forgot to say, that I'm supposed to be going for the radio-iodine Jab!!! Has anyone glowed in the dark yet!!! You know they never really say what the side effects are supposed to be??!! I'm intelligent, well-read, & yet, I still feel like a child when I see these doctors!! But after 2 visits & my hyper getting back in line they agreed I could be referred for the "Jab"!!! So now I get a letter!!! From the the big chief Dr. who's been on maternity leave for the last 4 months since I been there!! To say I have to go in & discuss the treatment with her???!!!! What the hell is the use of doing anything!!! Just when you think all is sorted you have to start all over again!!! Great if you have hormones that can withstand this sort of crap, but I'm not sure I can!!! So what am I supposed to do?? Live in hope that I'll get a glow by nite jab!!!! Liz xxx

Comments: Your story is inspirational, if only my mother had been able to check out the internet 30 years ago!!! I myself now have Graves disease! Doesn't sound that deadly does it!! Little do they know!! I was lucky that my Mum knew what it was like, she could understand why I was so nasty to her, & only her!!! That's the moods!!! What scares me now is the fact my eye-sight is starting to go!!! No one ever told me that I would have trouble seeing??! I have always had the best eyesight, I have no goitre, no protruding eyes, yet no one 3/4 years ago told me to get my eyes tested regularly, like every 2-3 months, I've just read that in one article!!! When asked they said well, you have no problems at the moment, you're OK!!! It was only on the last visit after the Graves repeated itself that I asked & the answer was yes go get your eyes checked!!!! To me I think the damage has already been done without my even knowing!!!! Anyway, thank you for such a great site! I may need to get a download or two from you as you have such great info!! Good luck to all who check out this book & let's all stay chilled!!!!! Liz :-)

Comments: Hi again! I've already signed once but just wanted to sign again. My graves disease reappeared in may and 15 days ago i had surgery. They removed 98% of my thyroid, the surgery itself was not a problem. Had some problems after with low calcium but this appears to be resolving. For anyone unsure about surgery its not that bad. Still feeling tired but hoping apart from taking thyroxine everyday my war with graves is over!!!! Fingers crossed!
